About the Consultant

Dr. Rozalyne P. Wright, Education and Diversity Consultant, began her educational career in 1972 as a classroom teacher at R. B. Cox Elementary School in Dade City, Florida.   Her 17 years of service at Cox Elementary School included classroom teacher, Migrant Language Arts Resource Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

In 1989, she relocated to Highlands County, serving as Coordinator of Personnel and Director of Elementary and Federal Programs.   In March 2001, she was employed by the Collier County School Board as Director of Diversity prior to assuming responsibilities as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent.  She retired from the Collier County School District in 2008.  Feeling the desire to continue working, she accepted a position with a private company in August 2008, and, after a few months, decided to establish her own company.

In both Highlands and Collier Counties, she worked with equity and diversity issues, facilitated the development of districtwide Character Education programs, and developed and implemented teacher recruitment programs.  She has provided diversity training for the schools, school boards, civic organizations, and other groups in both communities, as well as at State conferences and in other school districts.  She also serves as guest speaker and soloist for various church and community organizations.

Dr. Wright earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she participated in the well-known Bethune-Cookman College Concert Chorale for four years.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida, and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

She has been actively involved with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) for more than 25 years, serving as Chair of the Florida Elementary and Middle School Committee and Chair of the Regional Communications Committee.  She has served as Chair of SACS Peer Review Teams for many years.  She was recognized for her service in SACS in 2005 when she was selected as the Florida Recipient of the 2005 John M. Davis Distinguished Educational Achievement Award.  This award is presented to those who have

  • demonstrated long-standing contributions  to the State SACS Committee;
  • demonstrated distinguished and dedicated service  to elementary and middle school education;
  • made a significant impact on the educational profession; and

  • developed a reputation as an innovator/facilitator for educational change.

Currently, her role with the organization (now called AdvancED)  is that of Lead Evaluator.  Lead Evaluators are a select group of educators who have the opportunity to guide and lead External Review Teams anywhere in the AdvancED network.   AdvancED is an accrediting organization that has more than 100 years of experience.  It was created through a merger of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC).  

Other recognitions for Dr. Wright include nominations for Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America, Personalities of the South, Outstanding Young Women of America, Who's Who and Why of Successful Florida Women, and Who's Who in American Education.  She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Alpha Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.  She is an officer of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Naples, Florida, and is affiliated with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Dr. Wright is the proud mother of two children.  Her daughter, Janelle, is a teacher of gifted students in Lee County Public Schools, Ft. Myers, Florida.  Her son, Woodraun, is Executive Director for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Highlands County in Sebring, Florida.  Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren – Draun, Jr., Sa'Manuel, Essence, Raven, and Jabari.  She and her loving husband, Larry Wiggerton, reside in St. Petersburg, Florida.
